Instructions for existing customers to install FlexiAuction
onto a new computer from provided CD
* PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS PROCEDURE REQUIRES COMPUTER PROFICIENCY,
* IF YOU ARE NOT COMPUTER PROFICIENT, PLEASE GET AN IT PROFESSIONAL TO ASSIST.
* FEES TO FLEXIAUCTION WILL BE APPLICABLE
ON THE OLD COMPUTER
*
Make a copy of your C:\FXA folder onto a memorystick
(This contain the program, your logos, invoice templates, etc.)
*
Make a backup of all your database (Tools > Make a Backup > tick memorystick > Backup)
(This contain your customers, events and auction transactions, etc.)
*
Make a note of all your settings in Tools > Settings
NO DATA SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE OLD COMPUTER BEFORE
FLEXIAUCTION IS RUNNING CORRECTLY ON THE NEW COMPUTER !!!ON THE NEW COMPUTER

Insert your FlexiAuction CD into the drive
*
If the SETUP did not run automatically:
Explore the CD and run "fxasetup.exe" from your CD drive
*
Click "Install MSDE"
If the program could not install MSDE/SQL, phone us
*
Click "Install database"
If the program could not install the database, phone us
*
Click "Install RT50"
*
Copy the contents of C:\FXA (from old computer)
on your memorystick to C:\FXA on new computer
*
Run Flexiauction fxa.exe from C:\FXA
Make Desktop icon (Click Blue icon next to password)
Update the program if required
(right-click Logo > Update FXA > Check Version > Update from Web)
*
Run Flexiauction from your desktop shortcut
Enter Username ADMIN, enter Password ADMIN
Select "@" profile, tick to agree to terms
Click LOGIN
If you get an error message, either MSDE/SQL or the blank database
is not installed correctly, phone us
*
Restore your database from the memorystick
(Tools > Make a backup > Call us to assist with restore)
*
Change your settings,
Note however that PC-CODE should be unique within the firm.
(Tools > Settings > Save)
*
Click Tools > Settings > Unlock > Click blue link to activate,
then phone us to get the unlock code.
